Was able to catch the Music as a weapon IV tour as it came through my hometown. The open air part needs a little work if it is going to be a all out lifestyle outing but it was festive to say the least. Inside there was " Pure Metal Magic" (as i like to call it because no other form of music does what metal does) in a sold out Tsongas Arena. I was not blown away by Lacuna Coil but they did warm up the crowd so thier job was well done. Chimaria won a new fan that night. They were heavy loud and raw. In a way i saw a little Hatebreed in them. MAAW IV was the second time i seen Killswitch and i said this last time and i will sy it again Music like thiers should not be playing support in Lowell, Ma but filling the air of Madison Square Garden in a headling role. Now Disturbed, This band does walk the main stream but so does Metallica so in thier words "WHO CARES". That night Disturbed's music was pure. A dynamic frontman, true musicians and great theatrics is what topped that night. if you are able to catch this tour, do so. If not Disturbed is a must see.

Part of the Music as a Weapon 4 Tour, Disturbed was great as usual. Not much spontaneity, but that is not the style of David Draiman and his band. I had been up front on the floor for Lacuna Coil (one of my favorites) and Killswitch Engage. I spent the first few songs from Disturbed up there as well, but moved back to the back of the floor area on some risers, just behind the sound board. Great sound and I could see pretty well. A few minutes later there was a gaggle of security people rushing right in front of us. I though someone had started a fight, but it was David coming out to stand on a rising platform. Right after a 4 or 5 minute solo by drummer Mike Wengren the stadium went dark and then red spots uplighted David as the platform rose about 15 feet into the air. The drums started with that familiar da-da-da-da-dum da-da-da-da-dum of The Sickness and the crowd came unglued. I got a pretty good video of it with my little camera and when I post it on YouTube, I will put the link up on this page.

This was my third Music as a Weapon tour and prolly the fifth time I have seen them. They never disappoint.

    Rockstar Mayhem Tour
These guys rocked hard. I was weary of seeing them on this tour because I thought they'd be blasted away by the heavier bands, but they put on a hell of a show. Getting thousands of people to chant "U.S.A." before ripping into Indestructible was a highlight. I'll gladly see them again, and luckily the Music As A Weapon Tour will provide that opportunity.
