Röyksopp Return To U.S.

Posted on Tuesday November 3, 2009 at 08:01 AM Add |

Norwegian electro-pop duo Röyksopp have announced their first live shows in the United States since 2005 in support of their latest release Junior.

The band’s limited excursion to the States will hit the East and West Coasts, with stops in Los Angeles (Nov. 18), San Francisco (Nov. 19), and New York City (Nov. 23-24).

Ticket for all four shows are currently on sale.

Fans can expect to hear favorites from Röyksopp’s first two albums, as well as critically acclaimed tracks from the new album, including “The Girl and The Robot.”

When Junior – which features guest vocals from Robyn, Lykke Li, Fever Ray’s Karin Dreijer and Anneli Drecker (who will accompany the band on its U.S. trek) – was released earlier this year it found a place in the hearts of Röyksopp fans like Kanye West and Elton John, and remained on CMJ’s RPM chart for 19 weeks, with 9 weeks at No. 1, establishing a new record.

Here’s the back-to-nature video for the moody, Björk-Meets-Giorgio Moroder dance-floor burner “This Must Be It,” featuring vocals by Dreijer. (You’ll never look at your parents, loin cloths or drum circles the same way again.)
